Los resultados educativos españoles en PISA 2009 y sus condicionantes

Abstract

La publicación de los últimos resultados del Informe PISA 2009 (Programme for International Student Assessment), vuelven a poner de manifiesto que el nivel educativo de los estudiantes españoles se sitúa en una posición muy discreta en relación al resto de participantes. No obstante, si se observan las puntuaciones obtenidas por los alumnos pertenecientes a las distintas regiones españolas que participan en la evaluación con una muestra representativa, se pueden apreciar divergencias significativas. El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar los condicionantes que explican estas diferencias regionales en el rendimiento de los alumnos españoles mediante un estudio econométrico que nos permite conectar las habilidades demostradas por los estudiantes con los recursos con los recursos que tienen a su disposición, prestando especial atención al papel que juegan en el proceso de aprendizaje tanto las escuelas como el contexto familiar de los estudiantes. Con este propósito, en una primera fase del estudio, se emplean técnicas de regresión multinivel, puesto que los datos disponibles están anidados en diferentes niveles (alumnos y escuelas).
