Verteilung der Arbeitszeit. WIFO-Beitrag zum Sozialbericht 2015-2016

Abstract

Die wöchentliche Erwerbsarbeitszeit ist in Österreich in vielfacher Hinsicht ungleich verteilt. Unterschiede bestehen insbesondere zwischen Männern und Frauen: Fast jede zweite Frau ist teilzeitbeschäftigt, aber nur knapp jeder zehnte Mann. Die geschlechtsspezifische Verteilung der Erwerbsarbeitszeit wird in hohem Maße von der ungleichen Verteilung von Betreuungspflichten und damit der Aufteilung zwischen bezahlter Erwerbsarbeit und unbezahlter Familienarbeit beeinflusst. Die Arbeitszeitprofile der unselbständig Beschäftigten unterscheiden sich aber nicht nur nach Geschlecht, sondern auch nach Alter, Branche, Beruf, Ausbildung und Haushaltszusammensetzung. Die vorliegende Studie bietet einen Überblick über die Verteilung der Arbeitszeit in Österreich und zeigt durch die Gegenüberstellung von realisierter und präferierter Arbeitszeit Veränderungspotential auf.
