The DEA method in public sector institutions efficiency analysis on the basis of higher education institutions

Abstract

W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe przesłanki przeprowadzania analiz porównawczych efektywności działania instytucji sektora publicznego. Opisano ogólną koncepcję metody DEA, która obecnie zajmuje na świecie wiodącą pozycję w tego typu badaniach. Omówiono przykłady zastosowań metody DEA w różnych obszarach sektora publicznego w kilku krajach. Sformułowano konkluzję o zasadności stosowania analizy porównawczej efektywności działania instytucji sektora publicznego również w warunkach polskich. Rozważania zilustrowano wynikami obliczeń efektywności działania polskich uczelni technicznych. Wskazano, że większość badanych uczelni posiada rezerwy efektywności technicznej i alokacyjnej.
