Innovation im Bauwesen. Determinanten des Innovationsverhaltens österreichischer Bauunternehmen

Abstract

Die vorliegende Analyse gibt Einblicke in das empirisch bisher kaum untersuchte Zusammenspiel zwischen innovationsrelevanten Faktoren und dem Innovationsverhalten in der Bauwirtschaft. Basierend auf einer Umfrage des WIFO aus dem Jahr 2008 wurden 200 österreichische Bauunternehmen analysiert. Demnach unterscheidet sich das Innovationsverhalten von Bauunternehmen erheblich von dem der Sachgütererzeuger und der Dienstleister, aber auch zwischen den Baubranchen und den Innovationsarten. Zentrale Bedeutung hat die Marktausrichtung der Unternehmen: Ein wachsender Hauptabsatzmarkt und die Belieferung eines geographisch größeren Marktes erhöhen die Erfolgswahrscheinlichkeit von Innovationen.
