Understanding the Impact of Organizational Justice on Organizational Commitment and Projected Job Stay among Employees of the Business Process Outsourcing Sector in India

Abstract

This study examines the role of organizational justice in enhancing the organizational commitment and projected tenure of frontline employees of the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector. The results based on data from a self-report questionnaire survey carried out among 347 entry-level associates from various BPO organizations in Bangalore suggest that perceptions of higher levels of organizational justice can make substantial positive impact on the organizational commitment and projected tenure of employees. The findings also highlight the significant role played by each of the three dimensions of justice. Practical implications of the study are discussed along with the limitations and suggestions for future research.
