Abstract

[fre] Activité féminine et garde des jeunes enfants : une analyse micro-économétrique . par Olivier Guillot . Dans cet article, le choix d'activité des femmes ayant déjeunes enfants à charge et la décision de celles-ci de recourir à un de garde sont conjointement analysés à l'aide d'un modèle Logit polytomique. Le coût de la garde est explicitement pris en un coût horaire potentiel est estimé pour chaque mère de famille à partir d'une équation de coût. Menée à partir des données vague 1986 de l'Enquête socio-économique auprès des ménages lorrains, cette analyse micro-économétrique montre que le de la garde a un effet négatif sur la probabilité d'activité et de recours à la garde. In this paper, the decisions of women with young children to participate in the labour market and employ extra-household care are jointly analyzed using a multinomial Logit model. The cost of child care is explicitly included in the model: a hourly cost is estimated for each mother using a cost equation. This microeconometric study uses data from the 1986 wave of Lorraine household panel to show that the cost of child care has a negative effect on the probability of labour participation and employment of extra-household child care.
