Elszegényítő központi régiók? A területi egyenlőtlenség lehetséges mozgatórugói Szlovákiában
[Core regions impoverished? Spread and backwash effects on territorial inequality in 21st-century Central and Eastern Europe - the example of Slovakia]

Abstract

Szlovákiában az utóbbi évtizedekben egy sokak által irigyelt gazdasági fejlődés ment végbe. Mivel ez a fejlődés jellegzetesen a nyugat-szlovákiai fővárosi régióra és vonzáskörzetére koncentrálódik, az így kialakult központ-hátország különbségek alkalmassá teszik az országot a fejlesztő és elszegényítő hatások működésének vizsgálatára. A szakirodalomban ugyanis számos elméleti és empirikus kutatás foglalkozik azzal, hogy milyen körülmények között várhatók a központ- hátország kapcsolatban a fejlesztő, illetve mikor az elszegényítő hatások. Jelen tanulmány e fejlesztő-elszegényítő hatásokat kiváltó körülmények, tényezők jelenlétét vizsgálja Szlovákia példáján, bemutatva, hogy Szlovákiát több szempontból is az elszegényítő hatások önmagukat erősítő jellege veszélyezteti. A tanulmányban bemutatott dekompozíciós indexből is látható, hogy Szlovákia egy extrém, de nem egyedi példája a központ-hátország egyenlőtlenségeknek, továbbá a nagyváros-vidék diszparitás kumulatív jellege a kelet-közép-európai országokat - egyszerre posztszocialista és poszt-fordista jellegük miatt - általánosan veszélyezteti, eltérően az Európai Unió nyugati felében kimutatható tendenciáktól.* Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: O15, O18, O52, R11.
