Abstract

•Pooled data conceals consumer preference heterogeneity.•Consumers aware of FSMA’s PSR discount fresh tomatoes from exempt producers.•Younger consumer may be more responsive to a label.•FSMA labeling can negatively influence the produce industry up to 10.2%.
