Abstract

The convective wind energy collected by the Highway Convective Wind Energy Harvesting Device (HCWEHD) is used to drive the dust collection device installed in highway isolation belt, and a coupled simulation model of HCWEHD and dust collection device is established. The effectiveness of the model is verified by comparison. The simulation results show that the internal flow field has good symmetry, which is helpful for the separation of particles. The separation efficiencies of dust collection device for particles with particle size of 10 μm and ≥30 μm are 95.4% and 100%, and 1 μm and 2.5 μm are 20.6% and 60.8%, respectively. The energy consumption analysis shows that two HCWEHDs and one dust collection device are combined together. When the distance between the two HCWEHDs is d = 1.5D and the axial distance between the HCWEHD and the dust collection device is 2D, the wind energy generated by a driving car or a truck as long as there is one vehicle running in the overtaking lane on the highway can continuously drive the dust collection device during the vehicle passing through the combination. It is proved that the energy generated by the HCWEHD on the highway can effectively drive the dust collection device.
