Barreras de innovación en PYMES: una aproximación a través de una revisión sistemática de literatura

Abstract

La innovación es un factor clave en la competitividad de los países y las empresas. Las pequenas y medianas empresas que no adoptan la innovación dentro de su estrategia central corren el riesgo de no ser competitivas debido a quedarse rezagadas con productos y procesos obsoletos. Las empresas innovadoras son determinantes para una economía dinámica y competitiva. El propósito de esta investigación es identificar las diferentes barreras que afectan el desempeno del proceso de innovación en las pequenas y medianas empresas - PYMES. Para analizar las barreras de innovación a las que se enfrentan las PYMES, se realizó una revisión de la literatura existente en diferentes lugares del mundo, incluyendo a Colombia. La importancia de este estudio se deriva del hecho de que muy pocos estudios han explorado la cuestión de los factores que limitan los procesos de innovación de las PYMES, siendo un tema que ofrece orientación para futuras investigaciones en un campo que aún está en emergiendo.
