Determinantes de la volatilidad en el producto: evidencia empírica

Abstract

En este trabajo se busca estudiar los efectos del grado de apertura al comercio internacionaly del nivel de profundizaci´on de los mercados financieros sobre la volatilidaddel producto. Para lo anterior, se estima un panel para un conjunto de 39 pa´ıses duranteel periodo 1977-2007. Los resultados del ejercicio emp´ırico sugieren que el grado deapertura al comercio mundial parece no tener un efecto significativo sobre las volatilidaddel producto, mientras un mayor grado de desarrollo del sistema financiero reducesignificativamente la volatilidad en el agregado.
