Una revisión a los estudios sobre Migración Internacional en Colombia

Abstract

La migración internacional es una tendencia que ha venido creciendo de manera cada vez más acelerada en las últimas dos décadas. Fenómeno de gran importancia para los países de origen de dicha población y para los países de destino. Este articulo analiza los puntos de vista de los diferentes autores que han escrito acerca de este tema, teniendo en cuenta principalmente los determinantes económicos de la migración internacional en Colombia y las consecuencias que ha generado dicho fenómeno a lo largo de las últimas décadas en el país. Se obtiene como evidencia, en primer lugar, que la migración hacia países desarrollados o con niveles de industrialización superiores es cada vez más acelerada, segundo, que la emigración en el caso colombiano se encuentra fundamentada en mejores opciones de tipo laboral y económico, y, finalmente, que la brecha salarial entre países industrializados y países en vía de desarrollo marca una pauta importante ala hora de tomar la decisión de migrar.
