Bulgarien: wirtschaftspolitische Strategie und ökonomische Entwicklung seit der Öffnung

Abstract

Der vorliegende Artikel konzentriert sich auf die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung des osteuropäischen Transformationslandes Bulgarien. Einleitend werden die zentralen Neuregelungen beim Übergang von der Zentralverwaltungs- zur Marktwirtschaft knapp präsentiert. Darauf folgt eine Gegenüberstellung wichtiger ökonomischer Resultate in der Frühphase der Transformation sowie in den 2000er-Jahren von Bulgarien mit jenen der neun "neuen" Mitglieder der EU. Ausführlich werden dann wichtige bulgarische Reformen, wirtschaftspolitische Maßnahmen und deren Effekte im Zeitraum 1989 bis 2008 diskutiert und die länderspezifischen Konsequenzen der Finanzmarktkrise und politökonomische Reaktionen behandelt. Es folgen spezifische ökonomischen Prognosen für die nächsten beiden Jahre und wirtschaftspolitische Empfehlungen internationaler Institutionen. Letztlich wird auch das Thema einer möglichen bulgarischen Mitgliedschaft in der Europäischen Währungsunion kurz diskutiert.
