Das zentrale Entwicklungsziel sollten Grundkompetenzen für alle Kinder sein

Abstract

Im Herbst werden die Vereinten Nationen die Nachhaltigen Entwicklungsziele festlegen, die den von 2000–2015 geltenden Millenniums-Entwicklungszielen folgen sollen. Eric A. Hanushek, Stanford University, und Ludger Wößmann, ifo Ins­titut und Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, plädieren dafür, dass das vorrangige Entwicklungsziel der Post-2015-Agenda darin bestehen sollte, dass alle Jugendlichen mindestens ein Grundniveau an Kompetenzen erlangen. Da das Wissenskapital der Bevölkerung von höchster Bedeutung für eine inklusive Weltentwicklung, an der alle Bevölkerungsgruppen teilhaben, ist, wäre die dadurch entstehende Steigerung des zukünftigen Wohlstands immens.
