Ostdeutsche Industrie: Produktion bleibt auf Touren, erstmals zufriedenstellende Ertragslage, Beschäftigung nimmt moderat zu

Abstract

Im Januar 2001 befragte das ifo Institut wieder die am ifo Konjunkturtest teilnehmenden ostdeutschen Industrieunternehmen nach ihrer Produktions- und Personalplanung für das laufende Jahr. Nach der stolzen Wachstumsbilanz des vergangenen Jahres - Produktion und Auftragseingänge wiesen zweistellige Wachstumsraten auf - blieb die Stimmung bei den ostdeutschen Unternehmen weitgehend-freundlich. Sie rechnen auch in diesem Jahr mit einem Produktionsplus von 12%. Abermals etwas stärker werden vermutlich die Investitionsgüterhersteller ihre Produktion ausweiten. Die Urteile zur Ertragslage haben ebenfalls einen Sprung nach vorne gemacht. Erstmals überwogen per Saldo die günstigen Bewertungen. Vor allem im Verbrauchsgütergewerbe ist eine bemerkenswerte Ertragsverbesserung eingetreten, die negativen Meldungen konzentrieren sich auf wenige Branchen, an erster Stelle die Steine- und Erdenindustrie sowie Stahl- und Leichtmetallbau. Die Beschäftigung in der ostdeutschen Industrie wurde im vergangenen Jahr zwar mit 3% ausgeweitet, 2001 wird sich dieser Anstieg aber wieder verlangsamen. Es ist nur noch mit einer Zunahme von 1 1/2 % zu rechnen.
