Strukturfondsförderung der EU: Wie regionales Wachstum und veränderte Regeln die Förderlandschaft beeinflussen

Abstract

Seit Beginn der Finanzkrise 2008/2009 haben sich die regionalen Unterschiede in der Wirtschaftskraft in der Europäischen Union (EU) in Summe kaum verändert. Bei näherer Betrachtung bewegte sich etwa die Hälfte der 242 europäischen NUTS-2-Regionen aufgrund des heterogenen regionalen Wachstums vom eigentlichen Konvergenzziel der EU weg. Dies stellt einen Grund für die veränderte Förder¬landschaft in der nun anlaufenden EU-Förderperiode 2021–2027 dar. Als weiterer Grund fungiert aber auch die die neue Abgrenzung der Übergangsregionen von den stärker entwickelten Regionen der EU.
