Vom Sinn einer geschlechtsneutralen Erziehung und Bildung

Abstract

Die Debatte über die Ungleichbehandlung der Geschlechter erfährt zunehmende Kritik aus Öffentlichkeit und Politik. Insbesondere Maßnahmen zur geschlechtsneutralen Erziehung, die im Kindesalter ansetzen, werden abgelehnt: Kritiker befürchten, sie würden die kindliche Entwicklung schädigen. Bestehende Studien zeigen jedoch, dass die Entwicklung von Kindern und Jugendlichen beeinträchtigt wird, wenn sie Ungleichbehandlung aufgrund des Geschlechts ausgesetzt sind. Im jungen Alter angesetzte Maßnahmen zur Förderung der Gleichbehandlung können diesen Effekt hingegen umkehren. Demnach empfehlt es sich, zum Entgegenwirken der geschlechtsspezifischen Benachteiligungen von Frauen und Männern Maßnahmen im Kindesalter anzusetzen.
