Green Competence and Business Needs - an Analysis Based on the Example of Poland

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to highlight the market need for green competence. Green competence is a key skill in the current labour market. In relation to the stated objective and the hypothesis, the paper poses the following research question: "Which green competencies are most needed in the context of developing and building a company's competitive advantage?" In an attempt to answer this question, the paper first examines the nature of green competence and then focuses on green jobs. The main research methods used are: literature review, descriptive method, analysis and synthesis. A key element of the article is the presentation of the results of a survey of entrepreneurs that identified the desired skills for running a sustainable business. Relevant conclusions and recommendations for business are made.
