Soloselbstständigkeit in der Corona-Krise: Digitalisierung hilft bei der Bewältigung der Krise

Abstract

Die Corona-Pandemie hinterlässt deutliche Spuren in der Wirtschaft. Wie ergeht es dabei den Soloselbstständigen, die oftmals im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes auf sich alleine gestellt sind? Welche Rolle spielt dabei die Digitalisierung, die es ermöglicht, Tätigkeiten im Homeoffice zu verrichten, Produkte und Dienste online anzubieten oder Kunden online zu beraten? Hilft die Digitalisierung dabei die Krise zu bewältigen und wie verändern die Soloselbstständigen den Digitalisierungsgrad während der Krise? Die Erkenntnisse der vorliegenden Kurzexpertise beruhen auf einer Befragung von über 16.000 hauptberuflich Soloselbstständigen im Alter zwischen 24 und 65 Jahren, die der Verband der Gründer und Selbstständigen Deutschland (VGSD) in Kooperation mit dem ZEW Mannheim und dem Forschungszentrum Mittelstand an der Universität Trier durchgeführt hat.
