Unternehmensgründungsgeschehen in Österreich bis 1998: Endbericht zum Projekt Nr. 1.62.00046 im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums für Wissenschaft und Verkehr (BMWV) der Republik Österreich

Abstract

Sowohl in der wissenschaftlichen Debatte als auch in der wirtschaftspolitischen Diskussion wird dem Thema Unternehmensgründungen nach wie vor hohe Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet. Die mit einer hohen Gründungsdynamik verbundenen Hoffnungen auf eine höhere Leistungsfähigkeit und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Volkswirtschaft, auf eine schnellere Modernisierung der Wirtschaftsstruktur, auf mehr innovative und technologisch leistungsfähige Unternehmen, die einen nachhaltigen Beitrag für mehr Beschäftigung erbringen, werden dabei durchaus kontrovers erörtert. Diese Studie soll dazu beitragen für einige der genannten Themen neue empirische Erkenntnisse hinsichtlich des Gründungsgeschehens in Österreich zu erarbeiten. Durch die regelmäßige Berichterstattung zum Themenkomplex Unternehmensgründungsgeschehen in Österreich werden den wirtschaftspolitischen Entscheidungsträgern umfangreiche und zudem aktuelle Informationen zum Thema zur Verfügung gestellt. Durch Vergleiche mit den Referenzräumen Westdeutschland und Bayern kann eine Einordnung der Befunde für Österreich hinsichtlich der Struktur und des Niveaus der Gründungsaktivitäten vorgenommen werden. Die genaue und längerfristige Kenntnis der Gegebenheiten, Entwicklungen und Tendenzen des Neugründungsgeschehens in Österreich ist eine essentielle Voraussetzung für die Konzeption und Ausgestaltung einer effizienten und zielgenauen Wirtschaftspolitik, welche die Stimulierung eines gründerfreundlichen Wirtschaftsklimas im allgemeinen und die Verbesserungen der Bedingungen für Hochtechnologiegründungen und wissensintensive neue Unternehmen im besonderen zum Ziel hat.
