Eine Replikation des Chen/Starosta-Modells der interkulturellen Sensibilität in Deutschland und den USA

Abstract

Interkulturell kopetentes Personal ist für den Erfolg von Unternehmen auf Auslandsmärkten zunehmend von Bedeutung. Aus diesem Grund nimmt sich die betriebswirtschaftliche Forschung seit wenigen Jahren des Themas der interkulturellen Kompetenz auch empirisch verstärkt an. Ein aus den USA stammendes und dort empirisch validiertes Modell der interkulturellen Sensibilität, das Chen/Starosta-Modell, wird in der vorliegenden Studie einer empirischen Replikation unterzogen, nachdem ein früherer Versuch, dieses Modell in Deutschland zu reproduzieren, weitgehend erfolgreich war. Die erneute Replikation des Modells anhand deutscher und amerikanischer Daten scheitert jedoch, wodurch erhebliche Zweifel an der interkulturellen Gültigkeit des Chen/Starosta-Modells entstehen, denen in künftigen Studien eingehender nachgegangen werden sollte.
