Regles relatives a la retraite obligatoire et decisions de retraite des professeurs d'universite au Canada

Abstract

Les distributions selon l'age des professeurs dans les universites canadiennes ou la retraite n'est pas obligatoire et dans celles ou la retraite est obligatoire a 65 ans different au fil du temps, une plus forte proportion plus de professeurs de plus de 65 ans enseignant dans les universites ou la retraite n'est pas obligatoire. Une analyse d'un modele de risque en temps discret montre que les membres du corps professoral dans les universites ou la retraite est obligatoire a 65 ans ont des taux de depart a 65 ans qui sont de 30 a 35 points superieurs a ceux de leurs homologues dans les universites ou la retraite n'est pas obligatoire. Les resultats pour les hommes et les femmes sont comparables; toutefois, la grandeur de l'effet est un peu plus petite dans le cas des femmes. Ce resultat n'appuie pas l'hypothese selon laquelle la retraite obligatoire a un effet plus contraignant sur le comportement des professeurs de sexe feminin.
