Junge Migranten am Arbeitsmarkt: Bildung und Einbürgerung verbessern die Chancen

Abstract

"Junge Migranten verlassen die Schule im Durchschnitt mit niedrigeren Bildungsabschlüssen als einheimische Schulabgänger. In der Folge gelingt es ihnen deutlich seltener, eine berufliche Ausbildung oder ein Studium zu absolvieren. Dies wiederum führt zu erkennbaren Nachteilen am Arbeitsmarkt. Betrachtet man die Arbeitsmarktpositionen von jungen Migranten differenzierter, stellt man fest, dass diejenigen mit deutscher Staatsangehörigkeit häufig besser gestellt sind: Sie erreichen insgesamt höhere Bildungsabschlüsse und haben mehr Erfolg am Arbeitsmarkt als nicht eingebürgerte Migranten. Ausbildungsabschlüsse tragen bei allen untersuchten Migrantengruppen maßgeblich zur Arbeitsmarktintegration bei. Aber selbst mit abgeschlossener Ausbildung erreichen Migranten nicht die gleichen Arbeitsmarktpositionen wie Einheimische. Das gilt insbesondere für die jungen Erwachsenen mit türkischer Staatsangehörigkeit." (Autorenreferat, IAB-Doku)
