Abstract

Depuis plusieurs décennies, le champ du développement s'évertue à promouvoir l'empowerment des femmes. Il est tentant d'opposer différentes visions du concept en fonction de ses soubassements idéologiques et politiques, depuis des approches radicales axées sur la lutte collective et le changement social jusqu'aux approches néolibérales misant sur la responsabilisation individuelle et l'intégration au marché. L'analyse de la réalité quotidienne des luttes nous invite à reconnaître la dimension ambivalente, parfois paradoxale et toujours complexe des voies de l'émancipation. Sans occulter leur dimension matérielle, certes essentielle, cette analyse des luttes quotidiennes nous invite aussi à décortiquer la diversité et la capillarité des processus d'accès au pouvoir ainsi que leur dimension émotionnelle, affective et corporelle. Émotions et affects façonnent et expriment le pouvoir : mieux les comprendre est essentiel si l'on souhaite penser les voies possibles de son infléchissement ou de son renversement.
