Entre éthique et responsabilité sociale : contexte idiosyncratique de la PME en Afrique

Abstract

Cet article a pour objectif d'identifier les pratiques qui donnent au dirigeant-proprié-taire de la PME familiale de « bonnes raisons » de croire en la responsabilité sociale et de la mettre en oeuvre. Son but n'est pas de formuler une théorie générale des PME familiales mais, à partir de l'examen critique des travaux déjà effectués, de proposer un changement de perspective. Sur le plan théorique, nous faisons apparaître le rôle central du dirigeant-propriétaire, relativement à la « théorie socioéconomique des entreprises et des organisations » (Savall, 1975) à laquelle sont associés les concepts de «coûts-performances cachés» (Savall et Zardet, 2011). Sur le plan méthodologique, nous mobilisons des données secondaires issues de la revue de la littérature ainsi que des observations faites dans une PME familiale dont le dirigeant-propriétaire est d'o-rigine libanaise ; éléments que nous analysons selon une « approche contextualiste » (Nizet et Pichault, 2000). Enfin, nous mettons en rapport deux formes spécifiques de pratiques de responsabilité sociale en lien avec la performance au travail.
