Abstract

Les réorganisations industrielles en cours accompagnant la mise en oeuvre des nouvelles technologies, souvent marquées par des formes diverses de dé-intégration des entreprises, ont parfois accrédité l'idée d'une montée en puissance des relations de marché et, simultanément, au niveau global, d'une efficacité et d'une stabilité accrues des économies de marché. Une appréciation historique atteste de l'existence de nouveaux développements de la division du travail dont l'une des caractéristiques principales est, sans doute, le développement conjoint de la modularité des opérations productives et des réseaux d'entreprises. Ce développement est allé de pair avec le choix, plus ou moins contraint, d'un management par la valeur des actions. Cette forme de management a ses vertus. Elle lève les obstacles liés au poids des engagements passés et privilégie un calcul économique fondé sur le futur. Elle peut constituer un moteur de croissance. Elle ne doit, cependant, pas faire croire à la pertinence d'un démantèlement généralisé des activités productives au bénéfice de pures relations de marché et du pouvoir sans partage des actionnaires (...).
