Relations internationales et discriminations tarifaires : le cas de la France (1850-1913)

Abstract

Cette étude propose une mesure du niveau et de la volatilité des tarifs douaniers appliquée à chacun des partenaires commerciaux de la France au cours de la période 1850-1913. Sur la base des taux moyens, une typologie originale issue de la classification ascendante hiérarchique est proposée. La taxation des produits tropicaux apparait comme un facteur explicatif clef des écarts entre les pays même si le groupe des pays exportateurs de denrées exotiques ne peut être considéré comme homogène.
