Le prêt sur gages au Crédit municipal : vers une analyse exploratoire des relations entre banquier social et emprunteur

Abstract

Cet article a pour objectif de présenter une compréhension du prêt sur gages au Crédit municipal mobilisant une approche psycho-socio-économique. Cet établissement possède, en effet, des caractéristiques spécifiques : il ne juge, ni ne contrôle sa clientèle, et ne vérifie pas sa solvabilité. Comment alors comprendre les relations qui se tissent entre les deux parties ? A partir d’une étude de terrain sur la clientèle, nous établirons une grille de lecture théorique faisant état d’une relation particulière qui se noue entre les emprunteurs, stigmatisés comme une population financière à risque, et l’établissement bancaire à vocation sociale. Ce lien dépasse une simple logique marchande et nécessite une compréhension qui ne se limite pas à la vision de l’économie bancaire classique. Nous mettons également en avant une hypothèse intégrant le rôle des émotions morales dans l’étude des relations et des comportements des emprunteurs vis-à-vis du Crédit municipal.
