Bruttoeinkommensverteilung in Deutschland 1984 - 1999 und Ungleichheit unter ausländischen Erwerbstätigen

Abstract

Diese Studie betrachtet die im deutschen sozioökonomischen Panel (GSOEP) erfassten gewichteten monatlichen Bruttoverdienste vollzeitbeschäftigter Erwerbstätiger in der Periode 1984 bis 1999. Dabei werden einige Aspekte der Einkommensverteilung aufgedeckt, die von der bislang allgemein unterstellten Stabilität abweichen. Einer dieser Aspekte ist der deutliche Anstieg der Ungleichheit unter den Arbeitseinkommen vollzeiterwerbstätiger ausländischer Männer in Westdeutschland seit 1990. Als mögliche Determinanten dieser Entwicklung werden sowohl die Merkmalsverteilung dieser Gruppe, als auch die ausländerspezifische Renditeentwicklung auf diese Merkmale untersucht. Die Merkmalsverteilung und die Renditen weisen Entwicklungen auf, die kausal hinter einer steigenden Einkommensungleichheit stehen können. Diese Trends sind als Anreize für Humankapitalinvestitionen von hoher Bedeutung und werden hier erstmals aufgezeigt.
