La privatización de activos desde un punto de vista macroeconómico: evidencia empírica usando un modelo de crecimiento económico para América Latina

Abstract

Durante los últimos 20 años se ha desarrollado una extensa literatura centrada en comparar la actuación de empresas privadas y públicas desde un punto de vista microeconómico. Con este trabajo se pretende extender el debate sobre la relevancia de los diferentes tipos de propiedad de los activos de una empresa hacia el campo macroeconómico. La hipótesis principal es que, a través de un modelo de crecimiento económico, se puede identificar el efecto global de los diferentes tipos de propiedad en la economía de un país. El análisis se centrará en verificar si la predicción de una relación positiva entre el proceso privatizador y el grado de crecimiento de un país es acertada.
