Abstract

[Motivation und Zielsetzung der Studie] Die Digitale Transformation gilt als eine der großen Herausforderungen unserer Zeit. Obgleich zahlreiche Entwicklungen nicht neu sind - Computer, Roboter, Software gibt es seit Jahrzehnten - so hat die Digitalisierung in den letzten Jahren in puncto Vielfalt und Fortschrittsgeschwindigkeit rasant zugelegt. Treiber dieser rasanten Entwicklung sind die Informations- und Kommunikationstechnologien (IKT), die in Form von Breitbandinternet, mobilen Endgeräten, intelligenten Softwarealgorithmen und der Speicherung und Verarbeitung großer Datenmengen wirtschaftliche und gesellschaftliche Prozesse verändern. Es sind die zahlreichen Dimensionen der Digitalisierung, die eine Transformation von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft zu einem komplexen Unterfangen machen und ein ständiges Abwägen zwischen Errungenschaften einerseits und Unsicherheiten über die Auswirkungen andererseits erfordern. Gleichwohl ist allen Akteuren aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Gesellschaft inzwischen klar, dass die Chancen und Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung nur dann genutzt und gemeistert wer-den können, wenn man sich diesen aktiv und gestalterisch stellt. Ziel dieser Studie ist es, die Chancen und Herausforderungen der Digitalisierung für den Standort Baden-Württemberg überblicksartig herauszuarbeiten. Dabei werden folgende fünf Bereiche der Digitalisierung betrachtet: Wirtschaft, Mobilität, Bildung und Weiterbildung, Gesundheitswesen, E-Government / digitale Kommune. Als Querschnittsthemen werden Forschung, Entwicklung und Innovation, Digitale Infrastruktur, Nachhaltigkeit und Cybersicherheit betrachtet. Zu jedem Bereich werden * die Ausgangssituation allgemein auf Basis von bestehenden Studien dargestellt, * die Situation in Baden-Württemberg, soweit möglich, beleuchtet, * Stärken und Schwächen, Chancen und Herausforderungen für das Land Baden-Württemberg dargestellt und in einem Fazit zusammengefasst.
