El cerebro social: expresiones desde la cooperación y la agresión en niños y jóvenes

Abstract

La noción de un cerebro social en interacción propone comprender los patrones de actividad del sistema nervioso, en tanto se encuentran encarnados y contextualizados en el cuerpo, en el entorno relacional del individuo y atravesados por su propia historicidad como sujeto humano. El área de investigación Salud, Conocimiento Médico y Sociedad (Centro de Investigaciones sobre Dinámica Social de la Facultad de Ciencia Sociales y Humanas de la Universidad Externado de Colombia) indaga -en su línea Cerebro Social, Ecología y Convivencia- por las relaciones naturaleza-cultura, con énfasis en la comprensión de las interacciones biológicas y los procesos de construcción de realidad. Este libro presenta resultados de una juiciosa investigación sobre comportamientos agresivos y cooperativos en niños y jóvenes de nueve ciudades de Colombia, desde una perspectiva que se ubica en los bordes de las ciencias sociales y la neurociencia social. Los temas que aquí se exploran, como etología humana, coevolución, altruismo, teoría de juegos, ontogenia, razonamiento moral, cerebro social, entre otros, son de gran interés para los que quieran aproximarse a la comprensión de nuestra vida social y pensar formas innovadoras de asumirla.
