Abstract

Das WIFO-Radar der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit erfasst die relative Qualität des Standortes Österreich unter Berücksichtigung wirtschaftlicher, sozialer und ökologischer Zielgrößen. Im Durchschnitt über 24 Indikatoren ist Österreich sowohl im Jahresabstand als auch im längerfristigen Vergleich zurückgefallen. Hauptverantwortlich dafür waren zuletzt das relativ zu den Vergleichsländern besonders schwache Produktivitätswachstum, die geringere Dynamik im Warenexport sowie Positionsverluste im effizienten Einsatz natürlicher Ressourcen. In der Dimension Arbeitsmarkt und soziale Lebensverhältnisse blieb die Position Österreichs gegenüber dem Vorjahr unverändert.
