Wo steht Österreich im fünften Jahr multipler Krisen?. Eine makroökonomische Betrachtung

Abstract

Die multiplen Krisen seit 2019 – COVID-19-Krise, Lieferkettenkrise, Energiepreisschock – haben die österreichische Volkswirtschaft härter getroffen als andere Länder. Der Realwert des BIP pro Kopf – ein Maß für die durchschnittliche Kaufkraft der Einkommen aus der Produktion von Gütern und Dienstleistungen – lag 2023 um 2,2% unter dem Niveau von 2019. Der Euro-Raum hat sich hingegen schneller erholt. Dort war der Realwert des BIP pro Kopf 2023 schon um 1,6% höher als 2019. Österreich wird den Vorkrisenwert frühestens 2025 erreichen. Trotz überdurchschnittlichen Beschäftigungswachstums sinkt in Österreich die geleistete Arbeitszeit pro Einwohner:in, was den Realwert des BIP pro Kopf unter Druck setzt. Trotz staatlicher Stützungsmaßnahmen lag der reale Konsum pro Kopf 2023 um 2% unter dem Vorkrisenniveau.
