Prämieneinnahmen der Privatversicherung 2017 neuerlich gesunken

Abstract

Der Rückgang der Prämieneinnahmen in der Lebens- und Schaden-Unfallversicherung verminderte 2017 den Umsatz der österreichischen Privatversicherungswirtschaft. Das weiterhin robuste Wachstum der privaten Krankenzusatzversicherung glich diese Entwicklung nicht aus, insgesamt schrumpfte der österreichische Markt um 2,7%. Obwohl die günstige Entwicklung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt positive Impulse für das verfügbare Einkommen lieferte, wirkte die Abnahme der realen Pro-Kopf-Löhne nach Steuern und der Zinserträge negativ auf die Nachfrage der Privathaushalte; das anhaltend niedrige Zinsniveau stärkte zudem deren Liquiditätspräferenz. Gleichzeitig dämpften das Zinsumfeld und die Regulierung das Angebot an klassischen Lebensversicherungen. Die Versicherungsdurchdringung gab dementsprechend weiter auf 4,6% des Bruttoinlandsproduktes nach. Gemäß einer aktuellen WIFO-Umfrage erwarten die Versicherungsunternehmen für 2018 und 2019 eine Verbesserung der Geschäftslage in der Schaden-Unfallversicherung und eine anhaltend positive Dynamik in der Krankenversicherung. In der Lebensversicherung wird sich der Rückgang der Prämieneinnahmen verlangsamen.
