Konsumnachfrage in Österreich weiterhin verhalten – Zuwächse im Weihnachtsgeschäft

Abstract

In Österreich wie im gesamten Euro-Raum stützt der private Konsum die Wirtschaftsentwicklung in der aktuellen Phase schwachen Wachstums weniger als in den neunziger Jahren. 2005 erhöht die Steuerreform in Österreich die Einkommen der privaten Haushalte, während die reale Kaufkraft durch die Energieverteuerung geschmälert wird. Im 1. Halbjahr entwickelte sich die reale Nachfrage (+1,1%) in Österreich günstiger als in Deutschland (–0,1%) und etwa so wie im Durchschnitt des Euro-Raums (+1,2%) und der EU (+1,4%). Stark wuchs in Österreich in diesem Zeitraum die Geldvermögensbildung der privaten Haushalte; dabei war die private Finanzvorsorge eine treibende Kraft. Im 2. Halbjahr werden die positiven Einkommenseffekte der Steuerreform stärker spürbar, die Konsumnachfrage zieht an (+1,7%). Dafür spricht der lebhafte Geschäftsgang des Einzelhandels im III. Quartal, der auch ein gutes Weihnachtsgeschäft erwarten lässt.
