Food Security: New Approaches to Content Analysis and Evaluation

Abstract

— This article was prepared for an open scientific discussion on food security in the journal at the invitation of the editorial board. It is proposed to differentiate the concepts of “food security,” “food independence” and “food self-sufficiency,” and to pay special attention to the estimated indicators of food affordability. The author’s framework definition of the food independence category is given.
