Abstract

[fre] Salaire réel et emploi. . L'objet de cet article est l'évaluation des effets du salaire réel sur l'emploi en France à l'aide de divers modèles économétriques : simples équations de demande d'emploi ; modèles statistiques permettant de réaliser des tests de causalité ; fonctions de production autorisant le calcul de l'excès de salaire réel ; spirale prix-salaire afin de déterminer quel niveau de salaire réel est cohérent avec la stabilité des prix et de l'emploi ; modèles complets à prix fixes avec rationnements quantitatifs mesurant les probabilités conditionnelles des différents régimes (chômage classique ou keynésien, inflation réprimée,...) période par période. Dans tous les cas, l'effet obtenu des salaires réels sur l'emploi est très petit, alors que l'effet du prix des matières premières sur l'emploi ou de l'emploi sur les salaires semble beaucoup plus significatif. The purpose of this article is to evaluate the effects of real wages on employment in France using varions econometric models : simple employment demand equations ; statistical time series models permitting to perform causality tests ; production functions, allowing the calculation of the real wage gap ; wage — priee spirals determining which real wage level is consistent with the stability of both priees and employment ; complete fix-price models with quantity rationing measuring the conditional probabilities of the various regimes (classical or keynesian unemployment, repressed inflation, ...) period by period. In all cases, the effect of real wages on employment was found quite small, while the effect of raw material priees on employment or the effect of employment on wages seems to be much more significant.
