Abstract

[eng] Estimation of Consumption by Farmers in Central Africa, . by Christophe Muller.. . The purpose of this paper is to estimate a linear system of consumer spending by Rwanda farmers. Several methods of estimation are used, particularly one to counteract the effects of the high own-consumption rate in these households. The available sociological observations are confirmed income elasticity for each good is estimated; minimal consumption is largely due to household composition. In diesem Artikel wird ein lineares System der Konsumausgaben der Bauern in Ruanda geschätzt. Verschiedene Methoden werden hierbei angewandt, insbesondere zur Korrektur der Auswirkungen des hohen Eigenverbrauchsgrades dieser Haushalte. Die Schätzungsergebnisse bestätigen die verfügbaren soziologischen Beobachtungen. Für sämtliche Giiter wird die Einkommenselastizität bestimmt. Der Zusammensetzung eines Haushalts kommt bei der Erklärung der "Mindestverbräuche" eine wesentliche Bedeutung zu, was den Einfluß der Merkmale des Haushaltsvorstandes und des Umfeldes aufzeigt. En este artículo se presenta una estimación del sistema lineal de gastos de consumo de los campesinos de Ruanda. Para realizar dicha estimación se utilizan diversos métodos, especialmente para corregir los efectos del elevado índice de autoconsumo de las unidades familiares. Los resultados de dichas estimaciones confïrman las observaciones sociológicas disponibles. Para cada género de bienes se evalúan las elasticidades-ingresos. La composición de la unidad familiar tiene un impacto considerable en los "consumos mínimos". Por último se identifïca la influencia de las características del jefe de familia y del entorno.
