Közép-Kelet-Európa nagy átalakulása - siker és csalódás
[The great transformation of Central and Eastern Europe - success and disappointment]

Abstract

A tanulmány a közép-kelet-európai régió változásait először a világtörténelem kontextusában elemzi. Történelmi összehasonlításokkal igazolja, hogy egyedülálló átalakulásról van szó. Ez az egyetlen totális átalakulás, amely a nyugati civilizációban végbemenő gazdasági és politikai változások fő irányai mentén, békésen, erőszakmentesen és egyúttal elképesztően gyorsan ment végbe. Világtörténelmi távlatokban mérlegelve páratlan sikertörténet. Más a kép a mindennapi élet szemszögéből. A tanulmány hangsúlyosan mutat rá az emberek számottevő hányadának komoly gazdasági nehézségeire. A veszteségek érzékelését felerősítik különböző kognitív problémák, például az irreális várakozásokhoz képest bekövetkezett csalódás, az összehasonlítás céljára alkalmazott referenciapontok áttolódása, a bajok okozati elemzése körüli zavarok. Ha a mai nemzedék tapasztalata alapján értékeljük a változást, jogosulatlan lenne egyértelmű sikerről beszélni. Mindkét szemlélet indokolt; helytelen lenne a kettőt összekeverni, és közös mérlegre tenni. Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) kód: P2, P3, P5.
