Phenomenological renormalization of multi-parameter systems

Abstract

Two methods of estimating linear scaling fields and related exponents from finite-lattice data for multi-parameter Systems are discussed. The methods are analysed in detail for the anisotropic Ising model on a n X ∞ strip using the exact expressions for the dominant eigenvalues of the transfer matrix. Numerical results for the Baxter-Wu model in its symmetry-broken subspace and for the eight-vertex model are also presented. In all cases, excellent agreement with all exact or conjectured results are obtained.
