Inclusive finance and household education investment: an asset management perspective

Abstract

Based on Chinese evidence, this research explores the relationship between inclusive finance and household education investment. Using China Household Financial Survey Data, we find strong evidence that the level of inclusive finance is positively related to household education spending. Furthermore, we find access to credit cards and borrowing costs are two potential economic mechanisms underlying the positive relationship. Our study contributes to the fast-growing literature on inclusive finance and household finance.
