Abstract

A method of energy analysis and energy-saving design on the electromechanical system(EMS) is proposed in which three matrixes and their operations are used. An approach is presented to build the energy relationship matrix with use of the energy units which composes the EMS and the corresponding energy use forms such as driving, occupying, transforming and consuming, by which the energy analysis can be completed. The energy-saving measure matrix as a theoretical knowledge base of energy-saving design for the EMS is summarized to describe the relationship between energy use forms and energy-saving measures. A process for energy-saving design on any EMS is put forward, in which the energy-saving design matrix is formed by the energy relationship matrix multiplying the energy-saving measure matrix to build the relationship between energy units and energy-saving measures, by which the energy-saving measures can be found in energy-saving design on the EMS. This method can help to find each energy use point in the EMS and corresponding possible energy-saving measures for energy-saving design systematically and orderly, and to lay the foundation for intelligence and automation of the energy-saving design on the EMS. A case analysis is carried out to verify the feasibility of this method.
