Abstract

How do firms sustain continuous innovation ? To deal with this question, the present article focuses on the connection between various types of innovation in firms, both technological and organizational. Five case studies pertaining to nine transitions between innovations are chosen for the emblematic perspective they offer. Our theoretical framework is based on decision making processes:analogical, deductive and inductive. These processes em-phasize the complex relationship between the various innovations of the firm and lead to an understanding of the role of organizational innovation in sustained product development.
