Abstract

****** Abstract The informal economy has become an important resource for many Colombians and people of the subregion, helping to reduce the unemployment statistics. But the question arises: Do people who carry out activities within the informal economy generate significant levels in their quality of life or do they just survive? For this study, we developed an exploratory and conclusive research using a structured questionnaire, interviews and matrices, to conclude that the quality of life of people who engage in this type of activity is low, since they often do not have a social security coverage; income is insufficient to even meet their basic needs.
