Eficiencia de la educación superior en Colombia: un análisis mediante fronteras

Abstract

Resumen Esta investigación evalúa el desempeno de las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES) de Colombia, mediante la estimación de una Frontera de Posibilidades de Producción (FPP), que permite evaluar la eficiencia relativa y sus determinantes; también, se miden los factores externos que pueden influir en la calidad de la educación en Colombia. Para este fin, la metodología empleada es el Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) y el análisis de fronteras estocásticas (FE). Los resultados sugieren que variables como el nivel socioeconómico de los estudiantes determina la calidad educativa. Adicionalmente, se encuentra que la eficiencia de las IES vía DEA es en promedio 0,72, mientras que por medio de FE es de 0,87
