¿Se cumple la teoría neoclásica del comercio internacional?: el caso de la economía colombiana entre 1980 y 2007

Abstract

Este trabajo retoma el debate en torno a la validez de la teoría neoclásica del comercio internacional y estima un modelo gravitacional de comercio para el caso de la economía colombiana con el propósito de contrastar esta teoría. A partir de una serie de datos anuales de comercio para Colombia entre los anos 1980-2007 con estructura de panel, se halla evidencia de que las dotaciones relativas de los factores relativamente abundantes en Colombia (trabajo y tierra), tienen un efecto positivo en los flujos comerciales. Se concluye que, en este caso, no hay evidencia empírica suficiente para refutar la teoría y, en particular, el teorema Heckscher-Ohlin-Samuelson.
