Kurz zum Klima: »Sektorkopplung« – Ansätze und Implikationen der Dekarbonisierung des Energiesystems

Abstract

Der deutsche Klimaschutzplan sieht vor, die Treibhausgasemissionen in Deutschland bis 2050 um 80 bis 95% gegenüber 1990 zu reduzieren. Auch wenn im Detail noch große Unsicherheit darüber besteht, wie dieses Ziel konkret erreicht werden soll, ist in jedem Fall davon auszugehen, dass die Nutzung erneuerbarer Energien nicht nur im Stromsektor erheblich ausgebaut werden muss. In diesem Zusammenhang hat der Begriff der »Sektorkopplung« in den vergangenen Jahren in der energiepolitischen Diskussion in Deutschland an Bedeutung gewonnen. Dieser Beitrag führt in das Thema ein: Er definiert zunächst den Begriff der Sektorkopplung und grenzt diesen ein, bevor einzelne Sektoren und Schlüsseltechnologien genauer betrachtet sowie aktuelle Kostenabschätzungen der Dekarbonisierung des Energiesystems diskutiert werden.
