Dimensionen und Effekte eines transatlantischen Freihandelsabkommens

Abstract

Ein transatlantisches Freihandelsabkommen, das auch nicht-tarifäre Handelsbarrieren abbaut, hat ein erhebliches Potenzial, Wohlfahrtsgewinne für seine Mitgliedsländer zu schaffen. Das Abkommen führt insbesondere zu einem Anstieg der Exporte der mittelständischen Unternehmen in die USA. Die Reallöhne in Deutschland würden um etwa 1,6% zunehmen und die Arbeitslosigkeit geringfügig sinken. Nachhaltig negative Effekte auf das Welthandelsregime sind indes nicht wahrscheinlich.
