Großhandel: Drastische Absatzeinbußen bremsen die Investitionsbereitschaft

Abstract

Im Jahr 2008 profitierte der Großhandel noch von der günstigen konjunkturellen Entwicklung. Die Umsätze des Großhandels (ohne Kraftfahrzeuge) stiegen im vergangenen Jahr nominal um fast 8% und real um 3,7%. Bereits im Herbst 2008 setzte aber eine negative Entwicklung ein. Im ersten Halbjahr 2009 setzte der Großhandel insgesamt nominal 16% und real 9% weniger um als zur gleichen Zeit des Vorjahres. Negativ betroffen war insbesondere der Produktionsverbindungshandel. Dort brachen die Umsätze um 23% ein. Weniger stark betroffen war der Konsumgütergroßhandel, doch auch dieser hatte unter Absatzrückgängen zu leiden. Seit Mai zeigt der ifo Geschäftsklimaindikator im Großhandel zwar wieder leicht nach oben, die Skepsis der Großhandelsfirmen bezüglich des weiteren Geschäftsverlaufs ist aber immer noch groß, so dass auch die Investitionsbereitschaft im Vergleich zum Vorjahr stark geschrumpft ist. Sie wird sich 2009 weitgehend auf notwendige Ersatzbeschaffungen konzentrieren sowie auf einzelne strategische Investitionsfelder wie Informations- und Kommunikationstechnik. Insgesamt lassen die Ergebnisse der diesjährigen ifo Investitionserhebung einen Rückgang der Investitionen des Großhandels um etwa 14% erwarten.
